Miranda made a big hit out of Famous In A Small Town from the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend album. So I moved to Nashville to work some.
You guys, there are rock stars in Nashville that you have no idea about! Lemme blow a few of them up for you....
The Ettes
Ashley Ray
Charlie Worsham
A Thousand Horses

There's more and i'll tell you later. For the last couple of years I've worked with these guys and other Nashville ppl and it was awesome. Being a part of the intense creativity that happens in Nashville on a daily basis is truly a great honor. I always wonder how I'm even counted among them.

While I was there I started missing LA. After all, everything that I think about life and people and the world was kind of formed by being Los Angeles cause I went there so young. And maybe I got a little vocal about it. So one day one of Miranda's managers, Jordan Powell says to me, "you know what, I'm really tired of hearing about where you're not. Why don't you write it all down and shut up about it and be where you are." So I recorded Goodbye Hollywood. It calmed me down for a bit. That record came out earlier this year.

One day this past Spring, I'm driving home from visiting my cousin in Smyrna, TN. It's raining really hard. But whatever, it rains hard every day in Nashville this year. But this rain was so hard I had to stop at times just to figure out where the road was. I get home and start watching TV, trying to avoid the weather reports. "I know you guys! It's raining. I see. I'm right here! Where's Entourage!?" Slowly my basement was filling with foot after foot of water. At some point I open the basement door and discover my brand new indoor pool.

"Hello U-Haul?..."

Time to go.
